Plot 1921 HOD for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (2012)
It was a privilege for us to do the garden design and installation for the HOD for Sport Arts Culture and recreation.
Inspiration for the design of this garden came from the glass motives above the front door of this stately building. We also created levels to compliment the architecture of the building. A circular above ground rim flow pond with water cascading into it, added a tranquil element to this design. It also reinforces the architecture of the building. By keeping to the same shade and type of brick used for the building, it seamlessly ties in. This adds to create a cohesive look.
The design for the gardens around the pond symbolises the different disciplines in the Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation. Careful consideration went into the plant choices to create a sustainable landscape. Natural boulders and rocks creates an organic feel to the garden. This also contrasts beautifully against the backdrop of the historic building. We planned the pathway, which find its origin in this garden, to create a connection to the FSSSI and the golf course.
Lighting adds to the drama at night, showcasing the imposing façade and garden.
